Made in Japan in 1980, the Kenwood KD-850 is an absolute marvel of a turntable.  A perfect marriage between electronics wizardry and engineering mastery.  Unlike many turntables of the era, all electronic components are in regular supply as no custom made components were used.  This makes this beauty serviceable for many many more decades to come.
 
It is a fully automatic direct drive turntable with Quartz locked speed to ensure it spins at exaxtly the right speed always.  Nothing is cheaply made or engineered - it is simply one of those turntables that cost more to design and manufacture than they made money out of because it was built to make a statement.
