Kenwood KP-2022A Belt Drive Turntable
The KP-2022A is full of interesting differences when compared with turntables from the same era.
Starting with the tonearm; instead of the usual chromed pipe it has a tapered aluminium alloy casting. The headshell has a slide/lock mechanism instead ouf the usual screw on mechanism but will still take any standard headshell - which is great because you can fit a variety of cartridges with minimal fuss.
The counterweight can be moved to balance the arm following which a rotary dial moves the whole stub inwards to set the tracking force. Very different and it all works perfectly.
It's a semi-automatic so it returns automatically to rest at the end of the record.
Ant-skating is automatically accounted for in the the design - and is under cover. No need to fiddle with it :)
Everything inside and out is really well-made and well-engineered. Lots of wood and metal and reassuringly little plastic!
This turntable has been recently serviced and is ready to spin for you. It also comes with a new stylus and is fully setup in all repects.
Please note that it does not come with a lid. A new lid can be made by the guys over at Aarkim Plastics
